Shropshire Tai Chi Academy

The Academy runs Tai Chi classes at various Shropshire venues. (Please refer to ‘Tai Chi Classes and Contacts’ for locations)

Our Aims

  • Facilitate and encourage people to share in the Tai Chi and related arts as taught by Master Moy Lin-Shin.
  • Enable people aged 18 and over from all walks of life to enjoy the benefits of Tai Chi.
  • Provide instruction to allow people to participate in Tai Chi on a regular basis and train volunteer instructors to teach Tai Chi and related arts.
  • Encourage involvement in Tai Chi in local communities.
  • Develop an understanding of the benefits of this form of gentle exercise, as it promotes mental and physical well-being.

The potential health benefits of learning and practising Tai Chi includes:

  • Increased muscle strength and improved flexibility of joints i.e. beneficial to people with arthritis, lower back, shoulder and neck pain
  • Improved bone density i.e. beneficial for people with osteoporosis
  • Better functioning of internal organs
    Improved cardiovascular, circulation and respiratory functions
  • Improved concentration and memory
  • Reduced stress

The Academy is not affiliated with any religious organisations
